Respectful behaviour

Treat every person on Phirly — buyers, sellers, and admins — with basic respect. Rude, threatening, or harassing communication is not tolerated. This includes messages through the platform as well as content in listing descriptions and profile bios.

Honest listings

Every listing must accurately represent the item or service being offered. Use real photos of the actual item. Do not exaggerate condition, hide defects, misstate the age or brand, or use stock photos if the item differs from the original. If something is refurbished, repaired, or has visible damage — say so.

No spam or fake listings

Do not create duplicate listings for the same item to gain additional visibility. Do not post listings for items you do not actually have. Do not use irrelevant keywords or categories to attract traffic. Listings must represent a genuine offer.

No impersonation

Do not create accounts or listings that impersonate another person, business, public figure, government body, or brand. This includes fake Phirly accounts, fake Apple Store sellers, or fake government resale portals. Impersonation is a violation of Indian law and will result in an immediate ban.

No scams or fraud

The following are examples of scams that are strictly prohibited on Phirly:

• Asking buyers to pay in advance and then disappearing ("advance payment scam")
• Sending fake UPI or bank transfer screenshots as proof of payment
• Listing an item at an unrealistically low price to create urgency, then asking for "registration fees" or "delivery charges"
• Creating fake job listings that require an upfront "training fee" or "security deposit"
• Posing as a buyer to extract seller bank details for "payment processing"

No counterfeit or replica products

Do not sell counterfeit, fake-branded, or replica products. This includes fake iPhones labelled as genuine, duplicate luxury bags sold as authentic, or any item falsely presented as an original branded product. All brands and trademarks must be respected.

No illegal products or services

Do not list anything whose sale is prohibited under Indian law. This includes but is not limited to:

• Firearms, ammunition, and explosives (licensed or otherwise)
• Illegal drugs, narcotics, psychotropic substances, and controlled chemicals
• Prescription medications without a valid prescription context
• Wild animals, protected species, or their parts (ivory, skins, feathers)
• Human organs or biological material
• Pirated software, movies, music, or ebooks sold as physical media or digital links

No stolen goods

You must own the item you are selling or have clear authority to sell it. Do not list stolen goods, items obtained through fraud, or property that has been seized by a court. Selling stolen items is a criminal offence under Indian law.

No adult or sexual content

Phirly is a general marketplace accessible to users of all ages. Adult content, sexual services, escort services, or any listing with explicit sexual material are prohibited, regardless of how they are worded or categorised.

No hate speech or harassment

Do not post content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against any person or group based on religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Do not use the platform to harass, threaten, or stalk another user.

No dangerous products

Do not list products that pose an unreasonable risk to health and safety without appropriate warnings. This includes uncertified electrical goods, unsafe toys, expired food or medicine, or chemicals that require special handling.

No financial scams or fake investments

Do not promote Ponzi schemes, pyramid selling, unregistered investment schemes, cryptocurrency scams, or any other financial fraud. Do not offer "guaranteed returns" or "passive income" schemes that are not backed by a SEBI or RBI-registered entity.

No OTP or payment scams

Never ask another user to share their OTP for any reason. Never share a payment link and claim it requires the other party to "receive" money when it actually debits their account (a common UPI request scam in India). Never send or request payment through unverified or suspicious links.

What happens if rules are violated

We take violations seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, the following actions may be taken:

• Listing removal — The offending listing is taken down. You may receive a warning explaining why.
• Temporary suspension — Your account is suspended for a defined period. You cannot post new listings or contact sellers during this time.
• Permanent ban — Your account is permanently removed from the platform. This is applied for serious violations such as fraud, illegal listings, or repeat offences after prior warnings.
• Escalation to law enforcement — For illegal activity including scams, fraud, or sale of prohibited goods, we may report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting abuse

If you see a listing or user that violates these guidelines, use our Report Abuse page. Include as much detail as possible — the listing link, the seller name, and a description of the violation. Our moderation team reviews every report.
